Family Dog Training in Norman, Oklahoma

Do you ever feel like your dog is off in it’s own world? You love your dog, that’s for sure, but you have no idea how to communicate and you don’t want to feel frustrated any longer. You just want a happy life with your dog, so you can look back on these years and remember the adventures - not the misadventures. I get it!
The problem is that most dog training advice doesn’t work in the real world. Maybe it works inside a quiet training room with no other distractions and lots of treats, and maybe it works in theory, but we don’t live in a theory. You already know that you need training too. How do you discipline your dog without feeling like an asshole? Most importantly, how are you going to fit the training into your busy schedule?

I got my start in dog training the hard way working with my two personal dogs who had become aggressive toward each other. Despite working with multiple trainers, we struggled to see results. I didn’t understand why they were behaving this way or how to communicate with them, manage their behavior, or keep them safe.

After trying positive-reinforcement training without success, I explored alternate approaches and discovered that my dogs weren’t the problem - it was the lifestyle we were living. They had no clear direction, rules, or consequences. Once we addressed that, their behavior began to improve and our household became safer.

People started asking me for help with their dogs, and in 2017 I launched my training business to support other struggling dog owners. Today, I draw on those lessons to help owners understand their dogs, communicate effectively, and build lives together that are safer, happier, and more connected.

How I Work

I realized early on that success isn’t about what I can do with your dog—it’s about what I can teach you to do. Whether we work one-on-one or through a Board & Train program, my primary goal is to help you understand, connect with, and effectively work with your dog.

I’m a direct communicator, and that shapes my coaching. I’m committed to being fair and thoughtful with your dog while also working within practical timelines so you can get back to enjoying life together as quickly as possible. I also bring a bit of curiosity about the deeper side of the human–dog relationship. While my methods are grounded and practical, I believe dogs often reflect aspects of our own behavior and can teach us meaningful lessons if we’re open to them.

I work with all your dog’s people to learn how to:

  • Communicate yes and no

  • Achieve an influential relationship with your dog

  • Enforce boundaries and limits

  • Create a dog that wants to listen

  • Navigate the tough moments without losing ground
